Danny McBride stars in the upcoming HBO show East Bound and Down. The show is about a washed up pro baseball player who returns home and becomes a P.E. teacher. You can probably hear "Womanizer" 500 times in a week if you have what they call a "radio" with KISS FM. But I found an exception. Blitzen Trapper - Furr - Solid Listen Straight Through

Blitzen Trapper is a band based in Portland, Oregon. The Band signed with Sub Pop in 2007. The release of Furr in 2008 was a high-water mark for the group as their eclectic new songs received a two-page feature in Rolling Stone. The album was ranked #13 on Rolling Stone's Best Albums of 2008 while the title track was ranked #4 on the magazine's Best Singles of 2008.

The whole album is a solid listen straight through and backs up well to fellow Sub Poppers Fleet Foxes.

Look out for Charles Hamilton. He has been dropping mixtapes left and right for a while but he has a video to back his efforts now. "Brooklyn Girl" is his new video and you can check it out below. Game and Wayne - Red Magic - Whip Material

Game and Wayne dropped this cut called Red Magic. The lyrics are fairly typical but the beat is infectious. This is definite whip material. Even if you drive a Red 2000 Ford Ranger that you purchased from your Grandpa, like myself. A good imagination can make it feel like a black Ford Ranger form 2001 while listening to this cut.

The Knux are a fresh genre combining group consisting of two brothers from New Orleans. After Katrina they went to L.A. to work on music and recorded their debut album there. The album hits straight through and the influences range from Outkast to The Strokes. You will find that the record is filled with guitar play and fresh deliveries. Damon Albarn of Blur recently told NME Magazine that Blur will reunite for a gig at Hyde Park in London. Damon also said that the reformation is a one-off show at this point, but could turn into more. My good friend Curtis E. Bear likes to tell women the same thing. SNL is Starting to Have Decent Material Again? Welcome back

SNL has been pretty low on the radar for the last few years, mainly because it sucked really bad. Recently SNL has made some efforts at a rebound and the digital short below is evidence. Hopefully we see a continual improvement in this here case gosh darnit.

The beat is really simple, but Big Boi, Andre 3000 and Raekwon deliver on this track called "Royal Flush." This song was recently nominated for a grammy for best group performance in Rap/Hip Hop. Play it loud. 2nd listen is best.

MGMT - One of the Hottest Bands of 08

MGMT had a great year and made a name for themselves as one of the best new bands of 2008. This album isn't brand new, but its a must have for 2008. Check out the song "Kids" below.

Keep an Eye on - Danny Mcbride

Danny Mcbride has been in several comedies in the last couple of years and he is quickly becoming one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood. He starred in the film The Foot Fist Way that was released this year by Adam Mckay and Will Ferrell. Foot Fist is the funniest movie I have ever seen, hands down. Here is the trailer. Check Danny out on Youtube and you will find plenty of evidence that he is a master of the craft as they say.

Little Joy - Excellent Band Featuring Strokes Drummer

Little Joy is a fresh new band featuring the drummer from the Strokes, Fab Moretti. Rodrigo Amarante from Los Hermanos and Binki Shapiro are also in the band. If you like laid back Cali-Flavored tunes then check this out. Makes me wish I was at a bonfire on the beach. And hey, maybe I wouldn't be sober? Who knows.

Comedy Film News - Zoolander 2?

- If you didn't see Step Brothers over the summer I would recommend checking it out on DVD. It drops in stores today and looks like it has a wealth of special features on it. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly provide laughs througout in typical fashion.

- In other news, Ben Stiller recently commented that he would love to do Zoolander 2 and is possibly in the process of putting it together.

According to Contact Music, Stiller has been in talks to start production and is looking at scripts. He said, "I've been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we've had a few scripts. I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first."

Zoolander is a gift that keeps giving on dvd. Never fails to amuse.

Fleet Foxes - From the Basement

This is an absolutely amazing video of the Fleet Foxes performing "Blue Ridge Mountain" from their recent self titled album. The entire album is THIS good! The Killers - Neon Tiger Live with Jools

The Killers recently performed "Neon Tiger" from their album "Day and Age" that dropped last week. Neon Tiger is one of the best songs on the album and Jools Holland tends to get the best out of bands with his unique show and shooting style. If you live in the U.S. you can probably see one of your favorite bands performing on Jools if you type the band and Jools Holland into youtube. I would encourage you to do so. If not, don't let your meat loaf.
