Bummer - Ryan Adam's to "Step Away From Music"
Ryan Adam's recently posted on his blog that he will leave his band the Cardinals at the end of his current tour and step away from music. The musician wants some quieter times in life and always called the touring lifestyle "soul destroying." Adams has a book coming out soon called Infinity Blues. Adam's has also been on tour with Oasis, whose members seem like they would crush just about anyones soul with their snide personalities and garbage opinions.

Arctic Monkeys Debut New Songs!!!!!!!
The Arctic Monkeys played a show last night in New Zealand in which they premiered some new songs that will be on the next album. The new songs were:
- Go Kart
- Dangerous Animals
- Pretty Visitors
- Crying Lightning
No video has surfaced from the gig yet, but the Arctics will be playing some upcoming festivals down under, where perhaps the new material will make the set again.
Another piece of great news is the fact that the Arctics have been recording with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. That is genius. Can't wait to hear the new tracks. If you don't know the Arctic Monkeys, here is a track called "If You Were There, Beware" to check out. Live from Glastonbury 2007.

Led Zeppelin to Go On Without Plant
It sounds like Led Zeppelin wants to do a new album sans Robert Plant, followed by a tour. Jimmy Page's manager was recently quoted as saying,
"They decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit thier bill -- whatever their bill was at this stage in their career -- that they'd make a record and go on tour," says Peter Mensch, Page's man. "John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page enjoy playing with each other, and Jason Bonham is a really good drummer, so why not? We just need to find a singer."
As Men on Film would say, "Hated It."

Black Crowes Recording New Album Soon....At Levon Helm's Place....Sweetness
The Black Crowes will record new, original material for an upcoming album during four sold-out concerts at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York, in February and March. This run of performances at the recording studio built decades ago by the 2008 Grammy winner and former drummer for the Band are being billed as “Cabin Fever Winter 2009.” The shows on February 21, 22, 28 and March 1 sold out in less than two days.
More about this awesome revelation HERE.
The Allman Brothers - Back to the Beacon
Looks like the Allman Brothers will be playing the Beacon Theater for a ten date run this spring. The band is expected to be joined by special guests like, Boz Scaggs, Eric Clapton and possibly Dickey Betts. These dates are supposed to be dedicated to Duane Allman, so expect great guitar action. The shows kick off on March 9th, so if you're in the New York area I would try to check it out. More than worth your money.
You can read the full story HERE.
Grateful Dead Will Tour This Year
The Grateful Dead's remaining members will be touring this year. The exact dates have not been announced but they are expected to be decided in the next few weeks. The band, which now consists of original members Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, will be joined by their 2004 tourmates Warren Haynes on guitar (replacing late guitarist Jerry Garcia) and Jeff Chimenti on keyboards.
